Laila North

Dance Teacher

Laila started ballet at the age of seven when her doctor recommended it to her mom because she was badly Pigeon toed. Immediately, Laila fell in love with the artform and from there never looked back. Originally from Manitoba Laila had the great opportunity to train with some of the best ballet schools in Canada, the Royal Winnipeg Ballet School and then later the Alberta Ballet School in ballet, jazz and modern dance. Laila also has three years of Flamenco and Ballroom dance training. Laila gained the opportunity to dance professionally with the Ontario Ballet Theater in Toronto and toured across Canada and the United States. Laila also developed another passion which was teaching ballet after she completed a year of teacher training at the Royal Winnipeg Ballet School. In 2008 Laila found herself in Annapolis Valley where she soon rekindled her love for dance with Cadance Academy. Since 2010 Laila has been teaching and sharing her passion for ballet at Cadance Academy. Laila is also one of the main choreographers in Cadance Academy’s beloved annual Nutcracker. Laila’s students love how she challenges them to achieve new heights in their dance training.
