Kara Friesen is an Associate Teacher of the Russian Society of Ballet in Canada, having completed the teacher training program in 2018. She is also a graduate of the Contemporary Dance Program of Concordia University in Montreal Quebec alongside which she studied the Vaganova syllabus at Ballet Allegro after completing the CDTA syllabus as a student at Cadance Academy. Kara has taught at various studios over the past 15 years in levels from beginner to advanced.
Her training opened up many opportunities for her in dance such as performing in the Sonia Balazovjech Dance Company; raising funds for various community organizations through annual productions. She returned to Nova Scotia to perform independently as a contemporary dancer, with Votive Dance Company and Mocean Dance as well as choreograph shows for Kinetic Dance Studio and the Atlantic Fringe Festival. She was delighted to perform in Cadance’s Nutcracker and feels incredibly lucky to give back to her original school with techniques and skills she’s learned on her dance journey thus far.
