Important Rules for Nutcracker Performers
No gum allowed in the theatre.
Do not touch props unless instructed.
No watches or jewelry; Nutcracker is a period piece and accessories detract from the look.
Stay backstage until the end of the performance; do not enter the audience area.
No running or exiting through side doors during performances.
Always inform someone before leaving your assigned area (e.g., restroom breaks).
Be quiet backstage to avoid disturbing the audience.
Ensure you have all props and costume items before going on stage.
Costumes must stay at the theatre; store them carefully in garment bags with accessories after each use.
Return all props and accessories to their designated stations.
Avoid wearing loose sparkles that can stick to seats or costumes.
Do not write on backstage walls; Acadia University imposes heavy fines for damage.
Make sure to keep a low voice during performance - sounds travels!
