Important Rules for Nutcracker Performers

  • No gum allowed in the theatre.

  • Do not touch props unless instructed.

  • No watches or jewelry; Nutcracker is a period piece and accessories detract from the look.

  • Stay backstage until the end of the performance; do not enter the audience area.

  • No running or exiting through side doors during performances.

  • Always inform someone before leaving your assigned area (e.g., restroom breaks).

  • Be quiet backstage to avoid disturbing the audience.

  • Ensure you have all props and costume items before going on stage.

  • Costumes must stay at the theatre; store them carefully in garment bags with accessories after each use.

  • Return all props and accessories to their designated stations.

  • Avoid wearing loose sparkles that can stick to seats or costumes.

  • Do not write on backstage walls; Acadia University imposes heavy fines for damage.

  • Make sure to keep a low voice during performance - sounds travels!
