Act I — The Call and the Training
Scene 1: Tatooine — Longing for More
On the sandy planet of Tatooine, life is simple and routine. Luke lives with his Uncle Owen and Aunt Beru, tending to daily chores. The scene opens with a gentle pas de deux between Luke and his aunt and uncle, showing the quiet life they lead. Jawas, hooded hip hop scavengers, arrive to sell droids. Luke's uncle purchases two: the chatterbox C-3PO and the curious R2-D2, accompanied by other droids in smoother jazz style.
Luke’s frustration grows; his heart yearns for adventure as “Across the Stars” plays in a sweeping, epic dance.
Suddenly, R2-D2 runs off into the desert. Luke and C-3PO pursue but are ambushed by fierce Sand People in an open-class dynamic battle dance. Just as danger closes in, Obi-Wan Kenobi appears to save them with graceful, powerful moves.
Returning home, Luke finds tragedy—his aunt has been killed. A mournful dance to “Across the Stars” conveys his grief and determination.
Scene 2: The Call — Message from Princess Leia
Back with the droids and Obi-Wan, Luke cleans R2-D2 when suddenly a holographic message from Princess Leia is projected. The princess appears in a soft spotlight, surrounded by First Steps and Grade 2 ballet dancers who symbolize hope and urgency. The lights fade to black. Obi-Wan entrusts Luke with his father’s light saber creating a new hope for the light side.
Scene 3: Cantina Jazz Bar — Mischief & Escape
In a bustling alien cantina alive with vibrant jazz rhythms, Luke gets into trouble with a hostile aliens. Obi-Wan intervenes in a dazzling display of Jedi agility and strength. They meet Han Solo and Chewbacca, who promise a speedy escape. The mood intensifies as Greedo confronts Han Solo; tension peaks when Han shoots him down.
The dark side transcends over the crowd as Darth Vader, Boba Fet and the Stormtroopers march in (Grade 4 Tuesday class), surrounding everyone. Obi-Wan sacrifices herself in a climactic duel with Darth Vader, as Han, Chewbacca, Luke, and the droids make a getaway.
Scene 4: Outer Space — Space Adventures
The heroes navigate an asteroid field in outer space, dodging massive floating rocks in a Grade 4 Monday dance filled with quick, precise movements representing danger and escape. Han Solo and Luke fire at asteroids, protecting their ship.
A beautiful nebula appears, bathed in soft light and delicate ballet from beginner/primary classes, symbolizing hope amidst chaos.
Scene 5: Dagobah — Jedi Training
On the swampy planet Dagobah, Luke arrives with R2-D2 amid eerie swamp creatures (Acro 2). Yoda emerges in a wise and gentle dance, revealing his Jedi mastery and teaching Luke about the Force through acro dance.
Luke trains intensely under Yoda’s guidance, culminating in a mystical dance inside a magical tree where he glimpses Darth Vader’s dark presence.
Luke senses danger for his friends and departs. Yoda feels a sense of hope and peacefully passes away.
Intermission
Act II — The Light Side Versus The Dark Side
Scene 6: Cloud City — The Trap
At Cloud City, the heroes meet Lando Calrissian and Princess Leia during a lavish party. With party entertainers (Primary/Grade 1 and Grade 5 ballet).
Their celebration is shattered by Darth Vader, bounty hunters, and stormtroopers (Grade 4 Tuesday). Luke arrives as a confident Jedi; a fierce duel between light and dark ensues.
With help from Lando, the group escapes (Prim/Grade 1 ballet).
Scene 7: Forest Moon of Endor — New Friends
In a lush forest setting (Contemporary 2), Princess Leia and Han Solo share romantic feelings. Suddenly, Ewoks appear (Contemporary 1), initially wary but soon accepting C-3PO as a deity figure; they all join in a warm communal dance.
The peace breaks as Darth Vader arrives again with stormtroopers (Grade 4 Tuesday), sparking another intense battle.
Luke confronts Vader in a dramatic dance symbolizing the struggle between light and dark sides of the Force. Darth Vader reveals his secret which Luke refuses to believe.
Scene 8: Imperial Battleship — A Secret Revealed
Empress Palpatine tries to seduce Luke to join the dark side through a powerful intermediate dance filled with tension and menace. When Luke refuses, she attacks him with deadly electrical power.
Darth Vader turns against Palpatine to save his son in a moment of redemption, revealing his identity as Luke’s father through an emotional duet. Vader then passes away peacefully.
Scene 9: Celebration on the Moon — Freedom
The final scene bursts with joy as heroes celebrate their victory on the moon with Grade 3 ballet dancers. Princess Leia awards medals; Luke looks up to see Obi-Wan Kenobi, Yoda, and Darth Vader watching over him — a silent blessing from beyond.
