Mind & Body Class Descriptions (8 - 10 Week Programs)



Yoga

Many of the yoga classes offered are Anusara influenced yoga. Anusara (a-nu-sar-a), means “Flowing with Grace,” “Going with the Flow,” “Following your Heart”.

Attire required: something to move easily in.

Gentle Yoga (8-10 week course)

This is a great class to discover yoga, and is ideal for those who are recovering from an illness or an injury. Chairs and blankets are used as props to create a safe and comfortable way to learn the many benefits of yoga.

Yoga 1 ( 8-10 week course)

Beginner level yoga, which focuses on postural/body alignment, breath awareness and relaxation. Helps create strategies for stress reduction and encourage full range of motion. This class can aid in rehabilitation for many types of injuries. Many students take this class more than once to truly grasp the fundamentals before moving on to the next level.

Yoga 1-2 (8-10 week course)

Taking yoga to the next level, students must have a strong base from Level 1. The class will focus on building strength and endurance. This class will move faster and have more of a flow.

Yoga 2 (8-10 week course)

Now that the students have developed strength and endurance from the previous level they are ready for Inversions and other more advanced poses in Level 2. In this class there will be a strong focus on alignment.

Yoga / Pilates Fusion (8-10 week course)

Is the perfect compilation of Yoga, Pilates, Dance and Fitness exercise. Come out and try the “Class of the Future”.

Pilates (8-10 week course)

Improve your strength, fexibility, posture and natural alignment by strengthening your abdominals, back, “glutes” and legs. This workout promotes functional fitness - it provides the ability to improve in other sports through increased core strength.

Attire required: something to move easily in.

Pilates for Dancers (year-long course)

A class designed with the dancer in mind. Focus will be on strengthening and stretching the right muscles that are important for an ideal body alignment.

Attire required: Stretchy clothing.

Yoga Junior 1 (8 week course)

This class is a fantastic way to introduce your children to yoga! Each class includes sharing time, breathing and warm up, then moves into games around poses, and ends with relaxation.

Attire required: Boys & Girls are to wear something they can move comfortably in.

Yoga Junior 2 (8 week course ~ 8-12 yrs.)

Taking the young yogi to the next level by starting to introduce more advanced poses. Even though this class will be a more structured yoga class there will still be lots of room for yoga games.

Attire required: Boys & Girls are to wear something they can move comfortably in.

After School Yoga (8 week course ~ 13 + yrs)

Yoga is an ideal way for a teen to find inner calm and to learn how to focus. Not only does yoga train the mind but it also challenges the body in many new and fun ways.
